About – Simple is Happiness

sifsunnauti

My name is Sif and I come from Iceland. I live in Reykjavik, Iceland, with my son, my black cat and my cute little havanese dog. I have always been a fan of change in my life, and now I feel like need a new change and new challenges. On this blog I talk about health, happiness, change, challenges and the incredible journey of life.

I have a passion for all things italian that my mother sais I developed as a teenager, probably after being proposed to on the beach in Bournemouth, England by a lovely italian boy at the tender age of 15. He was 16 and we held hands but I turned down his proposal for practical reasons that a scandinavian girl understands, but not an italian boy. Since then I have taken numerous courses in an attempt to learn the beautiful italian language and have travelled to Italy several times. I am completely enamored by the country, the climate, the food, the people and the way of life that is so different from my own exotic island. In the end I decided that the only way to learn italian properly is to spend an extended amount of time there, so in the year 2015 I am planning a longer stay of at least 6 months in Italy.

In my everyday life I work as a veterinarian/partner in a small animal practice in Reykjavik, Iceland, but my secret passion is to write. I have written some short stories and made numerous attempts at writing a novel but haven´t finished one yet. In 2011 I did write and self publish a non-fiction book on puppy training, “The Puppy Manual”.

I share with my readers the fears and frustrations of a neurotic, single, working mother and closet writer of fiction.
